Pre-Training: PTSD Clinical Assessment and Ethical Engagement
This webinar is to educate mental health providers about ethical assessment procedures, decision making, and client engagement to be utilized with clients prior to beginning a course of evidence-based treatment (EBT) for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Providing clients with education on EBTs for PTSD is a public health approach consistent with professional ethics and values in clinical care. This webinar will also instruct attendees on approaches to educate patients about EBTs for PTSD to encourage help seeking behavior. It will focus on clinical assessment and screening activities, transiting current clients to EBT for PTSD, and provide Motivational Interviewing techniques as a framework for discussing EBT for PTSD treatment options with clients. This course is a PREREQUISITE for CPT and PE Workshops.
